To avoid the cliché of portraying coffee as merely bucolic, rustic, and traditional, Elisa Café builds on a scientific fact: each coffee harvest is unique and cannot be replicated, even under identical growing conditions. The visual identity conveys the idea that every harvest, cup, and sip is a living equation, shaped by variables such as time, technique, and affect (in Spinoza’s terms), resulting in something unique every time.

The graphic compositions, with intentional imperfections and strokes suggesting movement, express this essential quality of coffee and its constant capacity for transformation.

Letering by Letícia Naves
Based on the idea that a line drawn multiple times is never the same (thanks, Heraclitus), the signature is also a living element. The hand-drawn logo was drawn multiple times to generate inevitable variations that stimulate the brand's concept of transformation and movement.

Elisa Café is a coffee shop and roastery located in Belo Horizonte, specializing in high-quality Brazilian specialty coffees. Founded by chef Ana Elisa Saldanha, a graduate of Ferrandi in Paris, the café combines her repertoire of French cuisine with the traditions of Minas Gerais cuisine.
